songs, ads... same thing, really.

started my first songwriting class last night at old town. (that's me behind the camera.) we talked about song structure, and the more our teacher emphasized general rules for great songwriting (building drama; if you keep repeating things, people will get bored; etc.), the more i thought it was applicable to great marketing as well.

as for the class itself, i'm a little uncertain how i'll fit in. everyone was raving about the beatles (yes, still), and i said, "i think that band has gone downhill since george harrison was shot."

cue the crickets.
