i'm currently watching a bowl game, because it's december and that's what we do in december. the bowl is the poinsettia bowl. sorry, i meant the San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl. you probably recognize the san diego county credit union. they're the people who bring us the Big Bay Balloon Parade, which is considered "america's largest balloon parade" by credible sources such as the Big Bay Balloon Parade website.
the SDCCU (or "san diego county credit union" for long) has been sponsoring the bowl since its inception in 2005, but until the rest of us move to san diego or orange counties, our heightened awareness of the SDCCU will provide no business benefit to the brand.
of course it could be worse. consider this year's AdvoCare V100 Independence Bowl, named for a company that sells energy drinks through a pyramid scheme. prior to that, it was called the PetroSun Independence Bowl, named for a company whose purpose remains unclear today, even to stockholders.
before that, it was simply known as the Poulan Weed-Eater Independence Bowl. i miss the good old days.
